Centre for Socio-economic and
Sustainability Research (CSSR)

CSSR – Centre for Socio-economic and Sustainability Research is a registered trust under The Indian Trusts Act, 1882, Government of India. Accordingly, it is governed by the rules and regulations as applicable under the Indian Trust Act and its trust deed.

CSSR is also registered on the NGO-DARPAN portal of the Govt. of India, which is a National Informatics Centre and NITI Aayog platform acting as an interface between Voluntary Organizations (VOs)/NGOs and different ministries of Govt. of India.

CSSR generates evidence-driven insights on socio-economic and sustainability issues. Through rigorous research and impact assessments, it aims to foster inclusive growth and advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), driving sustainable socio-economic transformation.

CSSR adheres to the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, Income Tax Act, 1961, and other associated regulations & laws. The Board of Trustees, comprising of founder trustees (Dr. Jagbir Singh Kadyan and FCA Suman Kadyan), offers strategic oversight, financial management, and ensure alignment with the trust's objectives. Complementing the Board of Trustees is the Advisory Board, comprising eminent experts from academia, industry, civil society, and public policy. This non-executive board provides strategic guidance on all relevant matters based on the vision, mission, and core objectives of CSSR. Advisory Board members serve voluntarily for 2-year renewable terms, ensuring diverse representation without conflicts of interest.
